Cortney Barko, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of English
Cortney Barko is an Associate Professor of English at West Virginia University Institute of Technology. She received her PhD in English from Northern Illinois University in 2011, along with graduate certificates in Women’s Studies and Museum Studies. Her research interests include twentieth-century American literature, women’s literature, and feminist theoretical studies. Barko’s monograph, Writers and Artists in Dialogue: Historical Fiction About Women Painters, was published in 2016 by Peter Lang Publishing, Inc. She teaches first-year composition, literature, and communication courses.
